Camillo DiPietrantonio Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 23, 2024.
DiPietrantonio, Camillo, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024, at the age of 90. He was born in Manoppello, Italy where he grew up and eventually married his childhood sweetheart. In 1958, he came to the United States and began a new life and family. He worked hard to support his family, with multiple jobs early on and ultimately became a certified welder. He was passionate about gardening, including his vegetable garden, fruit trees, and various flowers and plants. The centerpiece of his garden was a 15+ foot tall fig tree that often caught the eye of people walking by. Beloved husband of 58 years to the late Armelia "Amy" DiPietrantonio (Ferrante). Devoted father of Diana Horne and her partner Ken Waterman of Swampscott, Franco DiPietrantonio and his wife Dawn Sullivan of Winthrop, Rosanna Morrissette and her husband Roger Morrissette of West Brookfield, and John DiPietrantonio and his wife Dr. Carol Hulka of Wayland. Cherished 'Grandpa' of John B. Donofrio, III, Michelle Landry, Stephanie Jean Baptiste, Olivia Grace Galarza, Christian DiPietrantonio, Jessica DiPietrantonio, and Lillian Sullivan. Proud great grandfather of Brooke, Emma, Naomi, and Vince. Dear brother of the late Giuseppe, Ilda, Maria, and Amelia, all of Italy. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.

Visiting Hours will be held from the Keefe Funeral Home, 2175 Mass Ave, NORTH CAMBRIDGE on Monday, April 29th from 4-7PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church, 134 Norfolk Street, Cambridge at 11AM. Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to the church. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Camillo's name to the American Heart Association. https://www.heart.org/

My dad worked with Camillo at the MBTA. He passed away in 2022. I visited him twice with my children. I enjoyed his stories and his company. I called him to visit again and he had told me in the warmer weather, that he wasn't feeling so good. I was sorry to learn of his passing. Johannah Malone (my dad was Robert Capriulo from the MBTA)

I have such fond memories of being Camillo's primary care physician for the past nearly 20 years. Camillo was blessed with a wonderfully suportive and attentive family and I know he brought them great joy as well. I'll miss Camillo and his Springtime stories of gowing tomatoes in his garden.
