Born Cammie Dawn Harris, wife of Mark James Walker, widow of Benjamin Heath Collier, and daughter of Frances Sells Harris and Carey Foster Harris, Cammie passed peacefully into the presence of her Savior on Friday, January 30, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband. She is survived by her husband, Mark; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved, including her extended Harris and Sells families.
Cammie was a woman of exceptional kindness and unwavering faith. Despite enduring significant health challenges, she consistently sought to encourage others to find strength, comfort, and inspiration through their relationship with God. She deeply loved her husband, affectionately calling him "Mr. Mark," though she often reminded him-always with a smile-that she loved him second best, only behind Jesus. Each day, Cammie and Mark expressed heartfelt gratitude simply for the blessing of another day together.
Gifted with a remarkable singing voice from an early age, Cammie willingly shared her musical talents to uplift and comfort others, particularly those in hospitals, at church, or during times of need. In later years, she became an accomplished guitarist, performing with various bands and frequently hosting musical gatherings in her home. These sessions led to the creation of meaningful musical recordings outside of traditional studio settings.
Cammie was a proud graduate of Ledford High School and Wake Forest University, and a member of the Thymes Society Sorority. She and her husband maintained residences in Kernersville and Fuquay-Varina, cherishing time spent in both communities. Cammie will be fondly remembered by all who knew her and will be especially missed by her devoted husband, Mark. Her life reflected steadfast faith in the Lord and a constant reminder to love one another.
A service celebrating Cammie's life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Union Cross Baptist Church on High Point Road. Interment will follow immediately at Union Cross Moravian Cemetery on Union Cross Road. The service will be officiated by Rev. Mary Beth Henderson and Rev. Adam Woods. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the
American Heart Association.
Cumby Family Funeral Service of High Point is honored to serve Cammie's family at this time.
