Candace Stokes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services - Monaca on Apr. 23, 2024.
Candace Lee "Candy" Stokes, 47 of Monaca passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024, at the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Rochester, PA, Candy was a graduate of Monaca High School, class of 1994 where she enjoyed playing softball. Following high school, Candy dedicated her life to being a homemaker.
Her life was a testament to her strength and resilience, especially after suffering a stroke a few years ago which limited her mobility.
Candy was a member of the Monacrest Free Methodist Church, where she was involved in the church's CYC program as a youngster.
She is survived by her loving mother, Deborah Lou Romesburg Broadwater, and was predeceased by her father, the late James Henry Broadwater and her maternal grandparents Don and Helen Romesburg. Candy's legacy will live on through her three children: Alyssa Stokes, Austin (Grace) Stokes, and Ashley (Zen) Stokes. She also leaves behind her Uncle Randy Romesburg, Aunt Lisa Romesburg (Joe), Uncle David Romesburg (Chris), Uncle Richard (Debby) Broadwater and Godparents Donna and John Relich, as well as her special friend Janice Relich and several nieces and nephews.
She had a profound love for butterflies, which to her symbolized transformation and the beauty of life's continuous unfolding. Her sweet tooth was legendary, with Hershey chocolate bars being a particular favorite, a simple pleasure that brought her immense joy.
A special thanks is extended to her good friends Alisa, Randy, Tammy, Melina and also the nurse practitioners, registered nurses and aides who cared for Candy during the past couple of years.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service on Wednesday, May 8th at 1:00 PM at the Monacrest Free Methodist Church, corner of S Walnut and Elmira Streets, Monaca.
The family has suggested that rather than flowers, memorial contributions be made to the family to defray funeral expenses.
Professional services are under the care of SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, Monaca. 724 728 4000.
