Candance “Candy” Dawn Widner, 59, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at her residence in Craigsville.
She was born on August 16, 1966, in Lexington, to the late Lloyd Franklin, Sr. and Dolis Clifton Parker Nuckols.
She dedicated her career as a secretary for the Augusta Correctional Center.
Candace had a zest for life enjoying offroading in West Virginia with her husband and nurturing her passion for ceramics. Above all, she cherished her family and loved ones.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Michael Widner, whom she married on May 10, 2005. She is also survived by her son, Trevor James Widner and his fiancée, Danielle Young; her brothers, Gary Layne Nuckols and Lloyd “Frank” Franklin Nuckols, Jr.; her nephews, Timmy, Travis, Todd, Troy, Josh, Danny, Jr., and Grayson; her four nieces, Samantha, Elizabeth, Jessica, Eden, Jesse, Stacey, Ginger and Montana; and his great-nephew, Sam.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Anne Carolyn Nuckols Page.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton with Pastor David Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 6:00 PM.
It is suggested that those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Augusta Regional SPCA (P.O. Box 2014, Staunton, VA 24402).
Arrangements are being handled by Henry Funeral Home.
