Carl Allison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thurman Funeral Home - Richmond on Mar. 2, 2025.
Carl Galle "Butch" Allison, 87 years, 11 months and 23 days, of Lady Lake, Florida, entered the presence of our Lord on Saturday, January 4, 2025. Butch was born on January 12th, 1937, in St. Joseph, Missouri to John H. and Mary Alta (Galle) Allison and was the youngest of their four children.
Butch attended school in Jefferson City, Missouri up until the family moved to Grandview, Missouri, where Butch graduated in 1955. He then attended the University of Nebraska in Omaha, while living with his beloved sister. Butch was an entrepreneur; he adored life and everyone he met. His smile and easy demeanor, made for interesting conversations with friends and strangers alike. He began employment with his father at the License Bureau in Grandview while dreaming of beginning his own business. Though there were many prior, the Santa Fe Inn in Raytown held his heart and most of his time. It was here that many friends and memories were made. While in the Kansas City area he served his community well. Butch was involved in the Jaycee's, the Masonic Lodge, serving in the Motor Corp, Sand buggies unit, as well as the Jester's - receiving his 50-year pin, as well as sitting on many other committees and boards to better communities and business districts.
Butch loved football and supported the University of Central Missouri as well as the University of Missouri football programs. He was a lifetime Kansas City Chiefs fan, season ticket holder, Red Coater, and friend to many Chief players, coaches and talent scouts. Butch loved bird hunting, time spent at the Lake of the Ozarks and quiet time on the farm in Holden where he added raising cows and farming to his resume.
Butch adored his family, many lifelong friends, cooking, entertaining, the outdoors, living life to the fullest and a good glass of Old Charter bourbon. In 2005, Butch retired to Florida to enjoy golfing and warmer weather. There he embraced his new community, made new friends and hosted old friends and family, and enjoyed the retired lifestyle.
Butch is survived by his wife, Teri, of Lady Lake, FL, his three sons, Kirk, of Raytown, MO, Scott, of St. Louis, MO, and Sam, of The Villages, FL. One daughter, Cricket (Destry) Hough, of Holden, MO. Five grandchildren, Jaclyn (Bryan) Hedges, of Lee's Summit, MO, Sam (Brandy) Hough, Celeste (Dakota) Malcolm, Hannah (Nick) Allison, all of Holden, MO, Brianna (Keifer) Bohnstedt, of Little Rock, AR. Eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers, John H. Allison II, Wesley Allison, and sister, Mary Margaret Brown.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sunny Slope Cemetery, under the care of Thurman Funeral Home 507 E. Main St. Richmond, MO 64085

Butch and I reunited in Florida after meeting at the Sante Fe Inn. We remained friends until the end. His love for Mizzou and the Chiefs was astronomical, and he never missed a football game and most basketball games. If I didn't watch them I heard about it, so many times, we were together. He is already sorely missed.
