Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornelison Funeral Home - Pocatello on Oct. 21, 2025.
Our sweet son, Carl David Anthony (Tony) Timmerman, 49, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025 in
Pocatello, Idaho. Tony was born at Letterman Army Medical Center on the Presidio in San Francisco, CA on May 14, 1976 and was the eldest child of Roy Carl Timmerman and Sandra Lynne Connor. Tony is predeceased by his youngest brother, Shawn Michael Ketchum.
As a child, Tony enjoyed tap and ballet lessons with his siblings, ultimately competing in state competitions. From elementary school through middle school, Tony was enrolled in the school district's gifted program, but as a teenager, Tony began to struggle in school. That's when he discovered his passion for playing the drums which helped him to double down and finally graduate. Tony also enjoyed riding the motorcycle that his uncle helped him buy and fix up. There was never a dull moment when he was around!
After he left home, he struggled again, ultimately moving to
Pocatello, Idaho with a friend. His struggle this time was with mental illness, and he never truly escaped its ravages. Still, he met and made friends in Pocatello, living there for the last approximately 15 years of his life. Tony especially loved his mom, calling as often as he could, his family and his cat, Misty, although not necessarily in that order. And over the years, Tony developed quite the gaming talent and made many friends with gamers all over the world. His kindness, sentimentality and desire to help others was what made him such an extraordinary and loving person.
Tony is survived by his mother, Sandra Connor Ketchum and her husband, Stanley of San Jose, CA; his sister, Trudi Evette Lynne (Timmerman) Gearhart of Santa Clara, CA; his brother, Timothy Edward Rae Timmerman of San Jose, CA; his brother, Troy Rene Wood Timmerman and his wife Crystal of Chilhowie, VA; his brother, Sandy William Ketchum and his wife, Susie of Fair Oaks, CA and his step-brother, Sean William Ketchum and his wife, Melissa of San Jose, CA. Tony is also survived by his two beautiful nieces, Kira and Kayla Gearhart, as well as his spirited nephew, Nicholas Ketchum along with extended family and friends and, of course, his beloved cat, Misty.
Tony's sudden passing has left a hole in the hearts of his family and friends. For those who knew Tony, they learned over time that he was an answer looking for a question and forever the riddle. But he blessed us all with his extraordinary personality and his very kindest of hearts. Tony will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him and he will never, ever be forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on November 1, 2025 at Good Samaritan Episcopal Church, 15040 Union Avenue, San Jose, CA. A private burial at sea will be held at a later date.
