Carl Barnes, 83
SHELBYVILLE

Carl Barnes, age 83, passed away on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, at his residence in Shelbyville.
Carl loved his family and was a devoted husband for 66 years to Ruby. He enjoyed rabbit hunting in his younger days and traveling to Glasgow to spend time with his family. He retired from Purnell's Sausage Company and was a masonry.
He was preceded by his parents, Floyd and Marjorie Barnes.
Carl is survived by his wife, Ruby Barnes; his children, Carol Kimbrough, Kathy Jamison (Doug), Sandra Humphrey and Carl Barnes, Jr. (Helena); his siblings, Pearl McCann, Bertha Turner (Ralph), Tommy Barnes (JoAnn), Linda Rhoda (Larry), Ray Barnes (Tammy), Roger Mattingly, Pam Strange (Barney) and Joyce Smith; his nine grandchildren; his 22 great-grandchildren; and his two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation is 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery.
