Carl Bermender Obituary
Carl Lewis Bermender, age 98, of Ocala, Florida passed away on May 11, 2023 at home with his loving wife of 75 years by his side. He was born on August 24, 1924 in Binginton, New York, a son to the late Marie Stickles and Norman Bermender. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother Norman Bermender.
Carl was a retired Master Sargent from the United States Marine Corp after 30 years of service, serving in both WWII and the Korean War. He was a drummer in the Marine Corp Band.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Betty (Reiniger) Bermender, a son Craig (Pam) Bermender, two daughters Deborah (Charles) Bishop, Vickie (Gee) Cox, grandson Corey Swetham, granddaughter Kimberly Williams, and two great grandchildren Corey Swetham, Jr. and Alexis Swetham.
He will be laid to rest in Arlington Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hospice of Marion County.
