Carl Blevins

PRINCETON – Carl Reese Blevins, 90, of Princeton, died Sunday, April 13, 2025. Born October 29, 1934 in Princeton, he was the son of the late Fred James Blevins and Kathleen Belcher Blevins.
Mr. Blevins retired from Norfolk Southern Railway after working more than 50 years in their communications department. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Over the years he held many church offices including trustee, treasurer, and deacon. He enjoyed watching westerns and tinkering around the house. He never hesitated to help someone in need. He was fiercely loyal to his faith in God, his family, and his country. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and love in every heart and memory he touched.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Norma Thompson Blevins; and two brothers, Russell Blevins and Ernest Blevins.
Survivors include one daughter, Julie Blevins of Princeton; one granddaughter, Wren Blevins and significant other, Tyler Troxel of Princeton; one brother, Lee Roy Blevins of Princeton, one sister, Freda Carter and husband Kenneth of Princeton; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Midway Church of Christ in Bluefield with Minister Dan Webb, officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
