Carl Francis Bockman, age 92, of Milford, OH, peacefully left this earth surrounded by the comforting love of his family on November 13, 2025. Carl was born on March 11, 1933, in Cayuga, Illinois to Roger and Edna (nee Andrews) Bockman; he was one of nineteen children. Carl proudly served in the United States Navy, stationed overseas from 1954-1958. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he and his brother, Chuck, took a car ride from Illinois to Ohio to visit his sister, Florence. Unbeknownst to Carl, he would meet the love of his life, Betty. Carl married Betty Jean Bockman on April 25, 1958, and established roots in Milford, OH. The following year, they welcomed a son, David Carl Bockman.
After the birth of their son, Carl began a long, fulfilling career with the United States Postal Service, serving the residents of Indian Hill, Madeira, and Newtown for 47 years. During his time as a Postal Worker, he earned the prestigious Million Mile Safety Award.
When Carl wasn't delivering the mail with a smile, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Carl enjoyed camping with his son, volunteering with his church, taking a dip in the pool, playing a mean game of Uecker, sinking a sandbag through a hole on the cornhole board, and teaching the basic skills of soccer to our youth.
In his later years, when he wasn't being ornery or cracking his famous, mischievous smile, a simple trip to a family gathering would suffice. A day sitting out on the deck with the sun warming his face while he indulged a cold Pepsi and a fresh bag of Fritos would be all he needed. The words may not have come as frequently, but when the sun-drenched nap hit, it was a good day.
Carl was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty, in 2002.
Carl is survived by his son, David (Rhonda) Bockman.
Seven Grandchildren: Ashley, Alyssa, Brittany, Meridith, Audrey, JoEllen and Natalie
Fourteen Great-Grandchildren: Mason, Connor, Cameron, Payton, Madison, Lennon, Iker, Larkin, Macoy, Camila, Josie, Koah, Archer and Bennett.
His current wife, Millie.
