Carl Richard “Ricky” Canipe Jr.
Rick, 59, of China Grove, NC died Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Born January 7, 1966 in Mecklenburg County, he was a son of the late Carl Richard Canipe and Donna Hopkins Gordon. Rick has worked for Estes Express Lines for the past 32 years as a Diesel Mechanic and Shop Foreman. Ricky enjoyed watching Nascar races, visiting the dirt track, fishing, and spending as much time as possible playing his PlayStation. He especially loved spending time with his family (mostly his grandsons) and his many cherished dogs over the years.
A loving husband, father, Pawpaw, brother and friend, he leaves to cherish his memory; his wife of 38 years, Secret Williams Canipe; daughters, Cameron Hope Canipe of Kannapolis, Allison Canipe Melo and husband Victor of Wilmington; grandchildren, Cason Richard Canipe and Colson Rider Canipe, sisters, Kim Parsons and husband Greg of Salisbury, Melinda Hill and husband Glenn of Davidson, Melissa Adkins and husband Scott of Cleveland, NC; many nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Nika and Micah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Allen Canipe. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made toward the purchase and donation of Bibles in Ricky’s memory at his home churches. Mail to Northwest Baptist Church (3500 Trinity Church Dr, Concord, NC 28027) and Corriher Heights Baptist Church (1980 NC-153, China Grove, NC 28023).
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 28th, in the Chapel of Raymer Funeral Home with Pastor David Day officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, September 29th at noon (601 Mt Olivet Rd, Concord, NC 28025).
