Carl was born in 1925 in Hillsdale, and early in life he knew he was destined to be a veterinarian. He went off to college, he liked to tell, in a suit homemade by his grandmother.
At MSC he met Anne and their lifelong love affair began. They were married for 60 years.
After graduation, he served in the army and in veterinary practices in, among others, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Detroit, Fremont and Traverse City.
At an age when most men were retiring, he opened the Whaley Road Veterinary Hospital in Cadillac because, he said, he "failed" retirement.
He was a true gentleman with old-world charm, values and manners, and he was filled with enthusiasms, energy, curiosity and an enduring love of veterinary medicine.
He leaves to remember him, his wife, Anne; daughter, Cynthia (William) Nash of Lawrenceville, Ga.; son, Jeffrey (Sandra) Clark of Titusville, N.J.; daughter, Kelley (Warren) Bowman of Lake Anne; son, Peter of Cadillac; and countless grateful pets and their owners.
Services will be held for Dr. Clark on Monday, June 9, 2008, at 11 a.m., at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac.
Remembrances may be made to the Wexford County Humane Society, in lieu of flowers.

Dear Anne & Family:
I was so saddened to hear of Dr. Carl's passing. I had just been thinking about him earlier that day; how hard he worked to keep our little Bert going over several years time. How I had known him in South Haven & then up here, too. He was a very special gentleman & will be missed. My thoughts & prayers are with you.
Always,

Dr, Clark was my vet in Detroit and he took the best care of everybody's pets...he helped me with my Tootie and Al and with a stray kitty who came to me. After I left Detroit, I moved to TC and low and behold found Clark Evertt in the phone book...but much to my disappointment, he had all ready left for Cadilac.
He was a caring, lovely man and a friend to all aminals...including the people ones! My sympathy to your family.
