Carl Lee Collins SR. 84, born 12/29/1940 in Mt. Morris PA at home. Died 12/29/2024 in Fairpoint Ohio at home. He was surrounded by his daughter Carla and his fur grand babies who he dotted on and loved.
He was born to Arthur M Collins and Carrie (Braham) Collins.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Arthur W Collins and sister Glen Innocenti.
Carl was know to have loved his time in the Navy and the town in which he was born. Not a soul could come in without being asked or taught about both. He also would say " we we" and ask if you knew what it meant. Carl loved deeply and you were blessed if you were on that end. He was known to be ornery and many have quite the stories to share. He also was know for his take no shit side. Well I learned where I get my dislike of liars and thieves. He worked in the coal mines for 18 years, worked construction and drove semi for a short stent. A hard worker always making sure he provided for his family.
Surviving are his daughters Carla Gates of Bellaire/Fairpoint OH as she was one who he wanted by his side to care for him. Julie Diehl of NC, Cynthia Roberts (Bill) of Beallsville Oh. Terri Jeffers of Neffs. A son Carl Collins Jr. Of Wheeling WVA. Grandchildren. Jessica (Chris) Robinson of Lancaster OH, Jerry ( Casey) Potts of Clairington OH, Joshua Potts of Groveport, Ohio. Laken (Tyler) Waggoner of Kimbolton OH. Lee ( Jessica) Roberts of Jerusalem OH, Billy ( Gert) Shriver, Conner and Colton all of Beallsville Ohio, Dylan (Kassie) Collins of Martins ferry OH, Paige (Joey) Cunningham of Cleveland Ohio. Also sister in laws Alice Collins of St. Clairsville OH, and Mary Sue Padgett of Westland MI. He is also survived by many great grandchildren that he would light up having them visit. The last few months of his life he really enjoyed their visits and sharing stories with them.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he never stopped caring for.
He loved watching the squirrels, the deer and making sure they were fed. He loved word search books his Daughter Carla got for him. He liked to read Western books. More than anything he loved Carla's cooking said only other person who could cook like that was his mother. He loved the weather channel, spending evenings watching jeopardy and wheel of fortune. Spending weekends watching football with Carla especially OSU games. He was a Steelers fan. Loved and watched complete seasons of the Rookie, Castle, Chicago Med, Fire, and PD and even sat through the Voice, he however didn't think it was right when someone would have to leave the show. A tough man with a soft heart. A man I'm proud to call Dad. A man who is missed so very very much. A celebration of life is being planned and will be updated when details are finalized.
