Carl Francis Dangler, 90, of Deshler, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 30, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 30, 1934, in Deshler to the late Irvin and Marjorie (Welsh) Dangler. He was the youngest of four children and proudly lived on the family farm his entire life. He was a graduate of Deshler High School and served his country in the U.S. Army at the Panama Canal during the Korean War.
On Nov. 16, 1963, he married MaryAnn (Schwiebert) Dangler, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 14, 2000.
Carl worked a short time at the former Claude Sintz factory in Deshler. His life's work was that of a farmer.
He remained a good steward of his family farm and it still remains in his family over 150 years with his two sons. He enjoyed everything farm life offered and treasured every season working alongside his sons.
He was a faithful member and former trustee of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed Sunday worship and looked forward to attending throughout his lifetime.
Carl is survived by his two sons, Steven Dangler and Gary Dangler; brother, Clifford Dangler; and sister-in-law, Irene Arps.
He was also preceded in death by sister, Doris Crump; brother, Ray Dangler; in-laws, Norma and Arthur Drewes, Raymond and Margaret Schwiebert, and Harold Arps.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Deshler, with Rev. Kurtis Freimuth officiating. A fellowship luncheon will immediately follow the service and then burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday prior to the services in the church.
The family suggests memorials to Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
