Carl went to be with the lord on May 2, 2025, at age 74 after a long battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed.
Carl was the oldest son of Edith (Beach) and Carl D. Dantzer. Carl attended Beecher schools graduating in 1968. He continued his education at Mott Community College. Carl worked for 38 years at General Motors as a die maker and skilled trades supervisor. He retired in 2006 to spend time with his family and friends. Carl was a loving husband and father. He was a cub scout leader for many years as well as a member of Thumb Area Mud Runners, a member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church, and Knights of Columbus 7591. Carl enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, hobby farming, and fixing things. He loved helping others and sharing his knowledge and experiences.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife: Laurie (Nystrom) Dantzer of 46 years; children, Jenny (Neil) Hutchison, Matthew (Rana) Dantzer, Rebecca (Troy) Fowler, Adam (Amanda) Dantzer, and Scott Dantzer; daughter-in-law, Ashley Dantzer; 22 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings: Wilma (Doug) Storrs, Michael (Bonnie) Dantzer, Robert (Jan) Dantzer, and Charles (Lynette) Dantzer; sister-in-law, Claudette Dantzer; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl & Edith Dantzer; in-laws, Betty & George Nystrom; son, Carl Anthony Dantzer Jr.; grandson, Brady Dantzer, and brother, Gary Dantzer.
The rite of cremation has taken place. Memorial services for Carl will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church, Vassar; visiting at church will begin at 10:00 a.m. and last until the time of service. Dinner to follow.
