Carl Eugene Dawson, 72 of Farmers Branch, TX, passed away on May 7, 2024. Carl was born on August 11, 1951, to Robert and Rubye Dawson in Abilene, TX and grew up in Dallas. As a young man, he worked with his dad at a small HVAC shop in Kemp before finding his passion as a computer programmer. Carl traveled the world with his career on projects in Hong Kong and China. However, he always loved tinkering with the mechanical and finding unique ways to fix things and so he returned to the HVAC industry where he eventually retired. Carl was a collector of many things, loved watching sci-fi shows, especially Doctor Who, and was an avid cat lover. He often joked he did not have cats, but rather they had him.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rubye Dawson, sister Claudia Dawson and grandchild Barrett Spence. Those left to cherish his memory include children: Amanda Drews and husband Jason, Douglas Dawson and spouse Danielle, Jhana Spence and husband Taylor; grandchildren: Alex, Bryan, Charles, Corey, Jhanathon, Misty, Trenton and Bill; great grandchild: Killian; friend Dana Chivers, numerous extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
