Carl Hall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chapelwood Funeral Home - Nash on Jan. 6, 2026.
Carl (Butch) Davenport Hall III, age 79, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away on December 31, 2025 at St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, TX with his family by his side. He was born on December 1, 1946, in Hope, Arkansas to Mary Elizabeth and Carl Davenport Hall Jr.

Carl, better known to everyone as Butch, was a devoted father, grandfather, veteran, and friend.

For over 20 years, Butch was a proud small business owner, of H&H Enterprises, who believed in hard work, integrity, and taking care of others as well as giving back to his community. He carried those same values with him during his service to our country, serving one tour in Vietnam with the United States Army Infantry. After returning home, his commitment to his fellow service members never faded. He remained actively involved in his local veterans chapter, where he generously gave his time and energy to support numerous events and causes. One event he looked forward to every year was the Wagons for Veterans Chuck Wagon Event fundraiser in Texarkana, a tradition that held a special place in his heart.

A true outdoorsman, Butch had a deep love for hunting and fishing. Some of his most cherished moments were spent in the woods in West Texas and Arkansas, as well as fishing on the water with his children and grandchildren, patiently teaching them how to hunt and fish and instilling in them a respect for nature and tradition. He also treasured many hunting and fishing trips throughout the years with his best friend, Billy Roy, a friendship that meant the world to him.

Butch was a devoted Christian and faithful member of First Baptist Texarkana. His faith guided his life and was evident in the way he loved, served, and cared for others.

Above all else, Butch, better known to his grandkids as "Mamps", loved his family more than anything. Until his illness, he could always be found cheering from the stands or sitting proudly in the audience at his grandchildren's events-whether in town or miles away-never missing an opportunity to support and encourage them.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, faith, and dedication that will live on through his family and all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents; one sister, Mary Carolyn Mundy; and one great grand-daughter, Mattie Ray Reaves.

Left to cherish Carl's memory are his children; one daughter, Brandy Henry of Kilgore, Texas and five sons; Mike and Teresa Hall from Hot Springs, Arkansas; Mark and Wendy Hall and Brian and Amber Hall all of Texarkana, Arkansas, Scott and Julia Harrison and Jeffrey Harrison all of Texarkana, Texas; 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, two sisters, Laurie and Bill Miller from Ft. Worth and Betty and the late Johnny Whisenant from Texarkana, TX.

The family will be hosted at the home of Scott and Julia Harrison in Texarkana, TX. For more information, contact daughter Brandy Henry: 903-239-2424.

A visitation will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 1:00 pm then immediately followed by a memorial service with full military honors at 2:00 P.M. The services will be held at the Beech Street First Baptist Church located at 601 Beech St. Texarkana, Arkansas. Pastor Bryan Bixler of First Baptist Texarkana officiating.
