Carl Aloysious Heinzler

Carl Aloysious Heinzler passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on October 21, 2025. Born in Marshall, Missouri to Edward and Mathilde Heinzler, he was the eleventh of twelve children. Carl was the last surviving sibling.

Carl grew up in Marshall, MO. In 1949 he graduated from Mercy High School; he then attended Missouri Valley College where he played football. After college he joined the US Air Force. In 1956 Carl moved to Marysville, CA where he met and married his loving wife, Edythe. They were married for nearly 66 years and raised their four children in Yuba City, CA.

As a resident of Yuba City, he worked 28 years for the Pacific Bell Telephone Company, then many years for Sutter Yuba Mosquito and Vector Control District. He was a dedicated parishioner of Saint Isidore Catholic Church. Carl was an outdoorsman, avid hunter, hobby gardener, grill master extraordinaire, dog breeder and the ultimate fixer/builder of anything.

Carl and Edythe enjoyed traveling. In the summers, they often loaded up the kids in their blue Ford F-100 pick-up truck to drive across the country to visit family in Missouri or go camping. Carl and Edythe also went on several ocean cruises with friends.

In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by his son, Tom Heinzler (Tricia); three daughters, Julie McNamara (Tom), Janelle Gentile (Tom) and Janice Moore (Mike). Carl had eight grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Carl will be held at St. Mary Cemetery & Funeral Center, 6509 Fruitridge Rd, Sacramento on November 1, 2025, at 10:00 am. A recitation of the Rosary will precede the Mass at 9:30 am.

With a twinkle in his eye, Carl enjoyed life. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
