Carl Larry Hollifield Jr.

     Carl Larry Hollifield, Jr., age 78, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City, NC.

 

     He was born the son of the late Carl Larry Hollifield, Sr. and Barbara Raye Cox Hollifield, on February 13, 1945 in Akron, Ohio.

 

     Larry’s legacy will be carried on by his wife, Molly Dover Hollifield; one son, Carl Larry Hollifield, III and his wife Holly Fox Hollifield; two grandchildren, Lauren Hardison and her husband Scott, and Molly Peña and her husband Jose; four great grandchildren, Olivia and Avery Hardison, Oliver and soon to be Emilia Peña; three sisters-in-law, Rita McMahan and her husband Bill, Annie Byrum, and Kathy Dover; two brothers-in law, Jay Dover and his wife Melissa Dover, and Phil Wilson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

     A funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2023 at First United Methodist Church in Marion. Rev. Barbara Mayo will officiate. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the Church.

 

     Flowers are welcomed and appreciated, however, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 374, Hudlow Road, Forest City, NC 28040.
