Carl Infantino

Carlo (Carl) V. Infantino age 86, of Cresskill, NJ, passed away suddenly on March 6th, 2025. Carl was born November 5, 1938, in Brooklyn NY. He was the son of the late Joseph and Minnie (Vitalani) Infantino.
Carl graduated from Power Memorial Academy in New York, NY in 1956 and went on to attend the RCA Institute, kicking off his lifelong career as a broadcast radio engineer in the late 1950's. He spent the majority of his career working for 1010 WINS, and as the world of radio broadcast evolved, Carl's work took him many unexpected places. In the early 1970's Carl took his passion for radio broadcasting in a new direction, taking on additional work in the field of freelance sports radio engineering in the greater metropolitan area. In this work, he connected listeners around the world with the live action of professional basketball, baseball, football, hockey and soccer for over 50 years while working for the NY Giants, NJ/NY Nets, NJ Devils, Cosmos Soccer and many other teams. Carl loved his work in sports media so much that he engineered his final show for the Brooklyn Nets just days before he died.
Carl's work was also his hobby, and he enjoyed sharing stories of the many people and exciting events he experienced over the years including spending two days deep under the sea in a submarine, working with Murray the K, and being front and center for some of the more legendary plays in sports history. Carl equally enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a kind and caring person who had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs.
Remaining to cherish Carl's memory are his partner of over 20 years, Eileen Sutera; children, Christopher Infantino, Michael Infantino (Merideth), Jacalyn Jacobson, and Jin Mee Infantino (Brian Mesropryan); grandchildren, Chance Infantino and Alexa Jacobson; and many nieces and nephews including his beloved nephew Joseph (Josette) Vitolo and their daughter Isabella.
A Funeral Mass will be held on April 12, 2025, at 10:00 am at St Therese of Lisieux Church located at 120 Monroe Ave Cresskill, NJ 07626, and will be officiated by longtime friend of the family, Father John Dennehy of Seton Hall University.
