I think it was the summer of ´76, Kathy had just gotten her learner´s permit and a bunch of us kids piled into the Jendrowski´s car for a drive. Kathy hopped into the driver´s seat sporting her new Dr. Scholl´s clogs. Mr. Jendrowski promptly scolded her for her choice of footwear, saying that they were not only impractical, but dangerous, to drive in. Fast forward about 40 years and you can still find me faithfully kicking off my Dr. Scholl´s (yes, I still wear them) when I drive...and I think of him fondly every time.
