In Loving Memory of Jeff Kaut (1953–2025)
Jeff Kaut, 72, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer. A fighter to the very end.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Linda; his beloved daughter Jessica, and his stepchildren Sean (Tiffany), Andrew, and Courtney (Mike); his cherished step grandchildren, Colin and Allyson; his sister Jennifer; and his mother-in-law, Mae. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his devoted fur baby companions, Scoochie and Nikki, who were always by his side. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marty, and his son Matt.
A proud 1971 graduate of Rancho Cordova High School, Jeff was a lifelong Lancer and a two-time inductee into the Cordova Sports Hall of Fame. Known as one of the finest baseball catchers the school ever produced, his athletic legacy lives on in the memories of teammates and friends.
Professionally, Jeff built a successful career in real estate, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike through his integrity, dedication, and personable nature. Outside of work, he was a passionate Kansas City Chiefs fan—nothing brought him more joy than cheering them on to three recent Super Bowl victories, whether from the stands or his favorite chair at home.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers from VITAS Hospice, whose support and kindness meant so much during Jeff’s final days.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be announced at a later date.
Jeff will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his strength, warmth, and the love he gave so freely.
