Carl Jack LaMarr, 96, of McLeansville, NC, died on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 9:39 a.m.
Mr. LaMarr's funeral will be held at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, located at 5120 Burlington Rd., Greensboro, NC, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 1 to 2 p.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. LaMarr was born on January 17, 1929, in Jamestown, Guilford County, NC, to the late Charlie Leroy and Tina Belle Andrews LaMarr. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Leeman Andrew LaMarr, Ray LaMarr, Fred Hyatt LaMarr, Robah Clinton LaMarr; and sisters, Leota Whitlow, Jessie Wyrick, Venita Mae Harrell, and Lucille Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Ianthia Gerringer LaMarr of the home; daughter, Sara Jannette LaMarr Stewart of Gibsonville; and son, Kemrey Jack LaMarr of McLeansville; four grandchildren, Charlotte Rebecca Stewart, Elizabeth Faye Stewart, Emily Blair LaMarr Wallace, and Christopher Ryan LaMarr; great-grandchildren, Dani Leigh Wallace, Nathan James Wallace, and Alexandria Wallace. He is also survived by his brother, Grady Sanford LaMarr of Gibsonville.
Mr. LaMarr graduated from McLeansville High School. He served in the United States Army in Special Forces in Germany under Eisenhower from 1951 to 1952. He was a heating and A/C inspector for Guilford County and the City of Greensboro in the Building Inspections Department. He retired in 1992 from the Physical Plant of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
During his free time, he enjoyed watching baseball, and for a few years, he assisted with coaching a Little League Team at Mt. Hope.
The family requests any flowers be welcomed and sent to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church for the service. Forbis & Dick- N. Elm is proud to serve the LaMarr family.
