Carl Losoya Obituary

On Saturday, September 2, 2023, Carl Losoya passed away at the of of 86 years. He was born on February 19, 1937, to Carlos and Margarita Losoya. The Losoya Family moved to Salinas, California when Carl was four years old. Carl was an athlete. While attending Salinas High School, Carl played football, basketball, and track and field. Later in life he played City League fast-pitch softball and was a pitcher. After high school, Carl joined the Army and served in the Korean War. He met Reyna Villegas in 1958, and they married in 1960. Carl and Reyna had five children, one son and four daughters.
Carl lived most of his life in Salinas until he relocated his family to San Jose where he worked at General Electric until his retirement. in 1999, he and Reyna relocated to Soledad where they lived the remainder of their lives. Carl was an avid Boston Celtics fan. He was a fan of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers, too.
Carl will be eternally remembered by his sisters, Toni Serrano, Irene Trevino (Robert), Margaret Medina (Alex), Delia Losoya, Hope Cruz (Richard), Romelia Mollindo, and his brother, Ricky Losoya. Carl will be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and close family friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Diana Serpa (John), Sandra Perez (Abel), and Sonya Losoya; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Reyna; daughter, Rosemary; son, Carlos; brothers, Ernie and Arturo; and sister, Hortencia.
A Funeral Service and Viewing will be Monday, September 11, 2023 at 10am at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd., Salinas. A burial will be celebrated in memory of Carl on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 11am at California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery, 2900 Parker Flats Cut Off Road in Seaside, Ca. I remember Carl hanging around MT two uncles, Sonny and Polo Moreno, when they were teen-agers. Carl was always nice and friendly when I would meet up with him in later years. My sincere condolences to the Posits family. May God bless you all with His Peace, Comfort, and strength at this time of mourning. He was a good man.
