Carl Eric "C.J." Moore, Jr. was born on November 13, 1990 in Valdosta, GA to Mr. Carl Moore, Sr. and Mrs. Sulanda D. Jackson and Michael Jackson.
At an early age, Carl received Christ at the St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Carl was a proud graduate of Lowndes High School Class of 2009. After graduation, Carl attended Georgia Military College where he received certification in Sports Medicine. In 2022, Carl attended Gibson and Sons Welding, Inc. and received certification in Welding. He also received certification in 2023 as a Conductor with Norfolk Southern and received certification as an Engineer the day before his passing.
Carl worked at Academy Sports, a football coach for the Leon County School System, operator at Union Tank and was currently employed at CSX Transportation as a Conductor and Engineer.
Carl's beautiful smile would easily illuminate a room. He will be deeply missed by his parents, children, siblings, grandparents, cousins, other relatives and friends.
On Saturday, March 9, 2024, Carl was called to eternal rest in Marietta, GA.
He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Arthur Moore, Sr., Eddie Mae Moore, Eula Arnold, Minnie Freeman and Estelle Davis; one aunt, Annette Cooley; two uncles, Tracy Moore and Kelvin Moore.
Carl leaves to cherish his memories to his loving parents, Sulanda D. Jackson (Michael) of Lake Park, GA and Carl Moore, Sr. of Atlanta, GA; four adorable children, Cason Eric Moore of Jacksonville, FL, King Messiah Moore and Kamille Ma'Laysia Moore both of Live Oak, FL and J'Qualyn Amir Moore of Douglas, GA; maternal grandparents, Innis and Geraldine Davis both of Valdosta, GA; paternal grandparents, Robert Moore of Pavo, GA and Wilhelmena Moore of Valdosta, GA; bonus grandmother, Bertha Brown of Valdosta, GA; three sisters, Nyesha S. Davis of Lake Park, GA, Ashley M. Moore of Valdosta, GA and Mackinzey A. Jackson of Lake Park, GA; one niece, Aalaydria Farley of Lake Park, GA; one nephew, Memphis George of Valdosta, GA; three aunts, Brigette Davis McGriff (Matthew) of Valdosta, GA, Yvette Bates and Peachie Diaz Moore; four uncles, Innis Davis, Jr. (Debra) of Pensacola, FL, Jerald Keith Davis (Shronda) of Dallas, GA, Robert Anthony Moore of Valdosta, GA and Johnny B. Moore (Robin) of Orlando, FL; fifteen great aunts and uncles; special cousins, Sevonte Jelks, Jacenia Davis, Je'Keeyisah Davis, Jykel Davis, Jerald "KJ" Davis, Jarvis Roberts, Niegel Nelson, Alesha Davis, Keveon Davis, Stephone Simmons, Otis Simmons, Vince Thompson, L.J. Moore, Jason Moore, Justin Moore, Melody Moore and Deshaune Moore; god parents, DeVan and Dale Fleming; a host of cousins, other relatives, friends and CSX Transportation Family.
The celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Morning Star Baptist Church, 1051 Howell Road, Valdosta, GA 31601. Rev. Naaman Hooker, pastor, Rev. Phillip Corker, officiating. Burial will follow at the Pallbearers Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held Friday, March 22, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be live streamed on the funeral home Facebook and YouTube Page.
