Also surviving is his mother, Becky Zaborac of Canton; his father, Eugene Murphy of Canton; his three sons, Tom (Michelle) Murphy; Wes (Anne) Murphy, Shawn (Ellen) Murphy, all of Canton; nine grandchildren, Grant (Adrianne) Murphy, Myles Harkless, Blake Murphy, Chloe (Ross) Harkless, Noah Stevens, Liam Murphy, Anna Courtney, Danny Murphy, and Abby Stevens; two great-grandchildren, Hollis and Harlen Simpson; brothers, Rick Murphy of Canton, Bart Zaborac of Springfield, sisters, Peggy Whitaker of Bradley, and Carla Gilles of Canton.
Preceding Carl in death, was his step-father, William Zaborac.
Carl was a gaming supervisor, was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed attending sporting and other events, that his grandchildren were involved in. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Canton.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of services. Deacon Curtis Theyse will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Burial of ashes will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be made to Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care, 7210 North Villa Lake Drive, Suite B. Peoria, Illinois 61614.
