Carl A. Nash, Sr., age 68, a longtime resident of Crest Hill, IL, formerly of Plainfield, IL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet, IL. He was born on August 5, 1957, in Joliet, IL.
Preceded in death by his father, Clarence A. Nash, Sr., and beloved wife, Deborah Nash (née Creech). Survived by his mother, Charlene A. Nash (nee Goebel), his son, Carl A. Nash, Jr. (Elizabeth "Betsy" Maier of Shorewood), stepchildren, Chris (Kesha) Lane and Christy Lawson of Kentucky. Adored grandfather of Andrew Nash, Peyton Maier, Morgan, Isabella, and Bennett Nash; Jacob, Courtney and Matthew Hollon, Christopher and Steven Lane, cherished great-grandfather of Lillian, Salem, and Hazel; Adalynn and Amelia. Dear brother of Charlene (Vic) Locher, Clarence (Jean) Nash, Craig (Jenny) Nash, Chris (Kathy) Nash and loving companion, Regina Lane of Kentucky, fond nephew, brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, great-uncle, and friend of many. Carl will be dearly missed by everyone including his dogs, Tinker Bell and D.O.G.
Carl grew up in Plainfield and was a 1976 graduate of Plainfield High School. He worked at Caterpillar, Carolina Tools, and DYWIDAG-Systems International USA Inc. (DSI), in Romeoville for many years, retiring as North America Safety Manager.
Carl enjoyed the outdoors hiking, canoeing, fishing, metal detecting, listening to country music and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He loved four wheeling and was a former member of the Joliet Mud Turtles 4x4 Club.
An avid animal lover with his dogs, cats, and chickens. Carl loved spending time with his family and was always there to lend a helping hand. Always quick with a joke keeping the party lively. A wonderful instructor and confidant. Carl's legacy is not only in the tangible achievements he left behind, but also in the countless lives he touched with his generosity and warmth.

Yesterday

Carl was one of the first people to meet us when we moved in to the neighbor hood many years ago. Always a stand up guy and willing to help when I would get stuck on a auto repair project. He will be deeply missed.
