Carl E. Paesano

1947 - 2024

Carl Edward Paesano, 76, of Avonmore died Saturday, April 20, 2024, suddenly of a cardiac event, at Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital. He was born October 16, 1947, in Braddock, PA, a son of the late Albert Ralph and Hazel Eileen (Westberry) Paesano. Carl was a graduate of Franklin Regional of Murrysville, PA. He had been previously employed as a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker at Westinghouse, in East Pittsburgh, and also a Tool Designer at Volkswagen in New Stanton, and the Elliot Company in Jeannette. He served in the US Army as an Air Traffic Controller during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending time in his workshop making beautiful furniture. Carl will be remembered as a very hard worker who would drop everything to help anyone. He will also be remembered as having a great sense of humor and telling his many stories. He also loved making jokes about his wife with his daughter Gina. Besides his parents Carl is preceded in death, in 2016, by his son Anthony Joseph 'Tony' Paesano. Carl is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beth Ann (Litzinger) Paesano of Avonmore; one daughter Gina Lester and husband Bill, of Latrobe; one son Joseph Paesano and wife Mackenzie of Lower Burrell; three grandchildren Sydney and Ian Lester, and Sonia Paesano; one sister Virginia Ceresa and husband Dom; three brothers Robert Westberry and wife Jane, James Paesano, and John Paesano; special family Vishal and Hema Jariwala and son Pratham; his best buddy and companion 'Rudy' the Corgi; and also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends for Carl's Life Celebration, 10 a.m. 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Matthew X. MERLIN FUNERAL HOME INC. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry, PA 724-694-8331 A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 12 p.m. with the Pastor Keith McCutcheon officiating. Interment will be in the Coles Cemetery, Derry. Military services will be conducted at the cemetery by the Blairsville Military Honor Guard.
