Mr. Carl Felton Peugh, age 96, of Thomaston, died Thursday, October 17, 2024, at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Peugh will be held Saturday, October 19, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Dr. Ryan Christopher and Dr. Rex King will officiate, and interment will follow in South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home Saturday from 1:00 until the funeral hour.
Mr. Peugh was born in Upson County on July 22, 1928, to the late Homer Peugh and the late Nannie Ethel Torbert Peugh. He was retired from Thomaston Mills, Bleachery Division, where he was an electrician in the shop. Mr. Peugh was a member of the Harmony Boys Quartet. He enjoyed working in his yard, cutting grass, and building bird houses. He loved the family gatherings on holidays. Mr. Peugh was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Peugh was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Tommy Huckaby. He is survived by his wife, Marlene Thompson Peugh; two daughters: Dena (Marshall) Pitts and Kathy Huckaby; four grandchildren: Cassie Huckaby, Chris Huckaby, Krystal (Darrell) Johnson, and Tyler Pitts. Eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also survive.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that those desiring make memorial contributions to the Upson County Humane Society, PO Box 1152, Thomaston, GA 30286.
