Carl Sbraccia Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by William F. Conroy Funeral Home, Inc., Burial and Cremation Services on Jan. 12, 2026.
Surrounded by his loving family, Carl Anthony Sbraccia, Jr. passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at the age of 84. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and devoted wife of 61 years, Myrna (Stauffer) Sbraccia and his daughters Carla Lang (Tom), Gina Henderson (Bill), Lisa Anderson Powell (Bob) and Peggy Sbraccia (Todd Capozoli) and his brother Richard Spracia. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Anthony, Sr, and Elenor Redding and siblings Carl Richard, Dianne "DeeDee" (Story), Evelyn (Mock), and Keith (Janet). Carl was a student and altar boy at Holy Innocents school and parish. He graduated from Langley High School in 1959 then proudly enlisted and served in the United States Air Force from 1960-1964. Returning to Pittsburgh, Carl joined his father and uncle at Sheraden Auto Body serving the community's auto needs for over 50 years. "If you saw his name and are still reading this, he probably fixed your car." As a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker for many years, he enjoyed helping local folks find the perfect homes.
Carl loved the ocean and our annual trips to Ocean City Maryland, driving in our custom van listening to ELO 8 tracks. Sitting on the beach, walking the boardwalk, eating delicious meals and sweet treats were the simple pleasures of family trips.
Carl was beyond excited to become a grandfather in 1994 and welcomed many more grandchildren over the years. Emily Henderson (Hunter Austin), Megan Bovalina (Anthony), Morgan Henderson (Joseph Bubonics), Jonathan Henderson, Rebekah, Robbie and Riley Anderson, Victoria Lang, Scott Lang (Kiyara) and Jonathan Lang (Kaitlyn). Over the years Carl was known as the most enthusiastic fan at soccer games, musicals, recitals and concerts. He loved watching his grandkids play and perform. He was a proud sponsor of many youth sports teams and enjoyed selecting the jersey colors for the season. Carl journaled every day and enjoyed chatting with his kids and grandkids and keeping up with their lives. He was always sure to say, "Thanks for talking to me." These notes helped create the priceless personalized Christmas cards he wrote for his grandkids every year. Carl also documented the excitement in his life. No matter the event, Carl would show up with his signature video camera and capture beautiful moments of our lives! We cherish these videos even more now, smiling and crying at the sweet moments.
He will be remembered for his service to our country and community, his love for the air shows and baseball games, his sarcastic wisecracks, his Converse tennis shoes, his love of Seinfeld, his sharp memory and infectious laugh, his love of Sunday breakfasts after church, his devotion to his family, and his unwavering faith in God which gave him peace in his final days. He will be fondly remembered by many in the Sheraden community who would often remind us, "Your dad was one of the best".
Family and friends are welcomed WEDNESDAY, January 14, 2026 from 2-4 pm AND 6-8 pm at the William F. Conroy Funeral Home, Burial and Cremation Services, 2944 Chartiers Avenue, Sheraden. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 15th at 10 am in Ascension Church of St. Philip Parish, 114 Berry St., Pgh 15205. Entombment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Twp.
