Carl was a good friend, mentor, a life couch, a man of wisdom, with a heart of compassion that was bigger than himself. Carl was a man of the people and for all people; people of all ages and backgrounds. He was at his best when he was helping others or teaching them a new useful skill.
I thought of him as a father/grandfather. From being in the same men´s small group at Community Christian church, to making breakfast for the men´s large group, to working together on many "Hammerheads" volunteering projects, a lot of which was organized by Carl, to sharing time together with the DuPage Woodworkers Club, I couldn´t have asked God for better.
You´re gone from this world good friend, but who you were and all you did for so many will never be forgotten. May I honor you by walking in your footsteps and carrying the torch of compassion forward till we meet again.
God Bless.

Paul, from mens group.

Carl frequently discussed the opportunity to participate in Honor Flight Chicago, encouraging me to sign up repeatedly. After several weeks of his persistent suggestions, I finally decided to register approximately three months later. It was a profound honor to be part of the same trip to Washington, D.C. with him, which I will always cherish.
If you knew Carl, you would understand that he considered many people his friends and was always willing to go out of his way to help them. He greeted everyone with a sincere smile, embodying kindness and genuine warmth.

Very sorry to hear about Carl. I will always remember him and the times spent together on various "Hammerhead" events over many years, where Carl served the Lord by helping the needy with household projects and repairs. Carl always had a solution for virtually every challenge we faced. His mechanical engineering background served him well.
I will also miss seeing him at the front door at church. May God bless your soul, Carl.
