Mr. Carl Alstine Sims entered his eternal rest on Sunday, August 31, 2025. Carl was born on December 24, 1940, to the union of Fletcher and Mattie Edwards Sims. He was raised in Prichard, AL. In 2005 he moved to Temple, TX and resided there until his earthly transition.

He was educated in the Mobile County Public School system and, upon graduating, entered the United States Military. Carl served honorably in the U. S. Navy for 20 years. He retired in 1980 with the rank of E-7 and title of Chief Petty Officer Quartermaster.

Carl was a devoted father, grandfather, family-man and friend. He never missed an opportunity to dote on his children and grandchildren and highlight their achievements to those he encountered, Carl never met a stranger and always had a friendly disposition for all he encountered. His memories and presence will forever be missed. He is survived by two daughters: Ms. Carla M. Sims of Temple, TX, who was a devoted caretaker and Ms. Evelyn Davis of Whistler, AL; four devoted grandchildren: Mrs. Raven (Byricus) Johnson I, Ms. W. Jade Robinson, Mr. Washington Andrew Callier, and Ms. Lillian C. Callier, all Mobile, AL; one brother, Mr. Felix Sims Sr. of Charlotte, NC; two sisters: Ms. Evelyn Sims of Long Beach, CA, and Mrs. Gloria (Winston) Sims Brown of Slidell, LA; Eight great-grandchildren all of Mobile, AL; along with a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Sims Sr.; a daughter, Mrs. Andretta Robinson Callier; a great-granddaughter, Rhyleigh M. Johnson, and three siblings: Fletcher Sims, Jr., Mildred Sims Davis, and Beatrice Sims Davis.
