It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we share the unexpected passing of Carl Joseph Spraw II, who left us too soon at his home in Clearfield, Utah, on June 3, 2025. Carl's absence leaves a void that will be felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His warmth, kindness, and spirit will be missed more than words can express.
Carl was born on January 29, 1976, in Bristol, PA, to Ann Dal Ponte and Tim Spraw (Ryanne). As the eldest of three brothers, he held a special place in the hearts of his siblings, Chris and Codie. His absence has left an indescribable emptiness in our lives. His love, laughter, and presence will be forever cherished, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Carl shared 14 years of marriage with Keri Spraw, a partnership filled with love and memories. Over the past six years, he developed a close, fatherly bond with his nephew, Miles Spraw, stepping in as both a father figure and loving uncle. Most recently, he lived with his loving partner and best friend, Katie Fuhriman. On March 17th, their hearts swelled with joy as they welcomed their beautiful baby boy, Knoxx Timothy Spraw, into the world. In the time they shared, Carl built a warm and caring bond with Katie's children, Julee and Kaius Fuhriman, embracing them with kindness and a genuine heart.
Carl was deeply proud of his son, Carl Joseph Spraw III (C.J.), and his grandchildren Alice May and Carson J. Spraw.. Carl's heart was always open to his family, and he cherished the time spent with them. Many others called him "Dad" including Xysis Silk Lahey, Anna Grace, and Sebastian Huston.
Carl's heart was full of love for all of his nieces and nephews-Tyler Carlin, Skyy Spraw, Miles Spraw, Cameron Spraw, and Rylee Spraw. Each one held a unique place in his heart, and he treasured the time spent with them.
Carl was a man of many talents and passions, each reflecting his creativity and hands-on spirit. He was an accomplished gardener, with a thriving "salsa" garden just outside his kitchen door, a testament to his love for growing things from the earth. His resourcefulness extended to his knack for fixing nearly anything; he could effortlessly carry a dishwasher up and down stairs, always ready to lend a hand with a project.
Carl also had a deep love for the outdoors, finding joy in activities like riding motorcycles, skateboarding, dirt bike & BMX riding, and fishing. His adventurous spirit was matched by his vivid imagination, which he poured into his love of drawing. He also dreamed of writing a science fiction novel, a project that reflected his boundless creativity and passion for storytelling. Each of these passions not only defined Carl's unique character but brought joy and inspiration to those around him.
Carl is preceded in death by his Grandma Elaine Spraw, his cherished MiMi, Judy Dal Ponte, his Grandpa Carl Joseph Spraw, and grandson, Xysis Silk Dwayne Lahey.
We warmly invite all who knew and loved Carl to join us in honoring his memory and saying our final goodbyes. Funeral services will be held on June 30th, 2025, at 12:00 PM, followed by a luncheon, at the LDS Chapel, located at 350 Vine Street, Clearfield, Utah. A visitation will take place at 11:00 AM in the Relief Society room, where we welcome everyone who held Carl close to their hearts to gather before the service.
