Carl Stephens Obituary

Carl Andrew Stephens, of Conyers, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the age of 90. Mr. Stephens proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Mauna Loa. He was an Optician by trade, working at Ballard Optical for many years in Atlanta and later becoming a business owner of Stephens Trailer Repairs for 17 years. Mr. Stephens was a long-time member of Mt. Carmell Christian Church and Crosspoint Christian Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed RVing, reading, NASCAR, gardening, watching hummingbirds, and listening to Gospel music. Above all else, Mr. Stephens loved his family dearly and the time he spent with them. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Elaine Stephens; father, Edgar Stephens, Sr., mother, Rosalee Harrison; and brothers, Edgar B. Stephens, Jr., Robert C. Stephens.

Survivors include his sons, Kevin Stephens, Sr. (Tara), Mark Stephens; grandchildren, Melissa Cabrera (Cristian), Kevin Stephens, Jr., Jesse Stephens (Karris), Jonathan Stephens, Kyrie Stephens, Karlie Stephens; great-grandchildren, Alex Cabrera, Isabelle Cabrera, Alysa Stephens, Elijah Brame, Stetson Stephens; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

A Memorial Service for Mr. Stephens will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, 11:00 AM., at Crosspoint Christian Church, 4550 GA Highway 20, in Conyers, with Curt Zehner officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the church, one hour prior to his service, from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crosspoint Christian Church.
