Mr. Carl Thompson, age 79, of Oakdale, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
Carl enjoyed many simple pleasures in life. He loved spending time on the golf course, watching his favorite shows like NCIS, and cheering for University of Tennessee football. He enjoyed following the games and sharing that passion with friends and family. Carl also had a special appreciation for nature, especially watching hummingbirds, which he affectionately called "hummies," and he enjoyed the beauty of flowers.
Preceded in death by his parents: Carl & Lila Thompson.
Two brothers: Rolland Thompson and David Thompson
Two sisters: Naomi Thompson and Dorthy Chambers.
He is survived by his sister & brother-in-law: Wanda & Tom Crass.
And many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday March 10, 2026, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Bro. Eddie Childress officiating. Graveside services will follow in Emory Heights Cemetery.
