Carl Richard Townsend

Funeral services for Carl Richard Townsend will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, LA. Interment will follow at Sandy Bayou Cemetery, Columbia. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the funeral home from 5 PM until 8 PM. 

Carl Richard Townsend was born May 17, 1960, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the union of his parents, Henry Lee Townsend and Margaret Louise Lucas Townsend, and he passed from this life November 27, 2024, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. Richard was a true Southern outdoorsman with a love for hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and fishing with his boys, and playing with his grandbabies. Richard was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 44 years, Shana Nugent Townsend; sons: Lee Townsend (Tasha), Tyler Townsend (Courtney), and Stephen Townsend; brother, Edward Townsend; grandchildren: Jaron Townsend, Karlie Townsend, James Henry Townsend, Taylor King, Andrew Townsend, Adelynn Townsend, and Silas Townsend; and life-long friend, Roy Strange.
