Carl Weil Obituary
Carl W. Weil, 86, was brought home to the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m., Prayer Service, 6 p.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Sioux City, IA. Funeral will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 10 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church Sioux City. Interment will take place after the service at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Dear Carl Weil family members, I am so sorry for the loss of such a tremendous human being. I am Karl Guetzlaff and a former resident of Harmony House in Waterloo. The staff knew the two of us as Carl (with a C) and Karl (with a K). I met Carl and Steve about two days after Carl was admitted to the facility. Steve introduced me to his father and after he left for home I visited Carl often in his room. We developed a mutual bond between us and spent time reminiscing about the interests we shared during our lives. Since I am 80 years old, I felt as though Carl could have been my brother. We talked about family vacations he had taken, the cars he had owned and the pride he had in his Pontiac, faithfully changing its oil at least once a year. We had talked about so many of our mutual interests that our visits seemed to be timeless.
I was discharged from Harmony House three days before his death and when I went to visit him a short time later the receptionist told me he was no longer there. I felt that in a short time we had developed a friendship and a mutual respect for each other that I will always remember. Thank you for your friendship, Carl (with a C).
