Carl E. White Sr., 88, of Derry Twp., died Sunday, March 14, 2026, at Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital. He was born November 24, 1937, in Claridge, PA, a son of the late Milton S. and Rebecca A. (Cole) White. Prior to retirement Carl was a Lineman for Allegheny Power. He was US Navy Veteran. He was a member of the St. Martin Roman Catholic Church, New Derry. Carl loved hunting and fishing. He coached Derry Little League and installed the original lights at the Derry Little League field, coached Derry JR Wrestling and he coached and was a past president of the Derry Midget Football. Besides his parents she is preceded in death by his wife Anna M. (Posavetz) White in 2016; two sons Joseph M. White and Carl E. White, Jr.; three brothers Robert , Eugene, and Charles White; four sisters Freda Ottenberg, Doris Booher, Marjorie Master, and , Nancy Arsenault. Carl is survived by his three sons Samuel R. White of Loyalhanna, James M. White and wife Denise of Derry Twp., and Timothy J. White of Latrobe; two sisters Mildren R. Praksti and Betty Firmstone and Bill; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family will receive friends for Carl's Life Celebration 2-4 and 6-8PM, Wednesday March 18, 2026 at the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home, Inc. 529 N. Chestnut St. Derry, PA 724-694-8331. A funeral mass will be held 10AM, Thursday, March 19, 2026 in the St. Martin Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Salvatore R. Lamendola. Interment will follow in the St. Martin Cemetery. Blairsville Military Honor Guard will conduct a Military Service at the Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.merlinfuneralhome.com.
