Carla Marie (Johnson) Cox was born on August 29, 1960, in Bozeman, Montana. She was the heart and soul of her family — a woman whose love was most often expressed through a warm kitchen, a full table, and the comfort of being together.

On November 11, 1978, she married the love of her life, Steven Cox. Together they built a beautiful life and shared 47 years of marriage rooted in faith, commitment, and devotion to family.

Carla was a proud and loving mother to her daughter, Misty (Russ) Ibison, and her son, Travis (Erin) Cox. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren — Jordan, Madisyn, Carter, and Leila — and her great-grandchild, Alivia. Being “Grandma” was one of the titles she treasured most. Family dinners at Grandma’s house became a tradition filled with laughter, stories, and the kind of cooking that made everyone feel at home. She fed her family not only with food, but with love.

Carla is also survived by four of her seven brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by three siblings, as well as her mother and father.

Those who knew Carla knew that her family was her world. She loved them deeply and spent as much time with them as she possibly could. Her presence was steady, warm, and comforting — a place of belonging for everyone she loved.

A service to honor Carla’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on February 27, 2026, at Covey Hill Baptist Church, 33566 28th Ave, Paw Paw, Michigan 49079.

Following the service, a luncheon will be held at Trowbridge Township Hall, 913 32nd St, Allegan, Michigan 49010.

Carla’s legacy lives on in the meals shared, the traditions continued, and the family she loved so completely. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
