Carlene Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory - Midland on Mar. 29, 2026.
Carlene Clara Harney Moore, age 80, passed away on March 27, 2026, in Midland, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm – 7:00pm, Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11:00am, Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Born and raised in Ponca City, Oklahoma, Carlene was the daughter of Carl and Vera Harney. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by her two sisters and one brother. Her roots in Ponca City shaped a life grounded in faith, family, and quiet strength.

On June 8, 1968, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard C. Moore. Their 58 years of marriage were a testament to enduring love, partnership, and devotion. Together they built a family centered on care, humility, and steadfast support.

Carlene is survived by her husband, Richard; her two children, Jason Moore and Tana Moore Frazier; and her two grandchildren, Brenner Frazier and Avery Frazier Howell, who brought her great pride and joy.

She made her living as a skilled seamstress at J. E. Borens, where her attention to detail and craftsmanship were evident in everything she created. In the years that followed, she became an avid quilter, a passion she carried for more than 40 years. Through her involvement in quilt guilds, she found both creative expression and lasting community.

A devoted Christian, Carlene attended several Baptist churches throughout her life and most recently was a member of First Baptist Church in Midland. Her faith was a quiet but constant presence, reflected in her kindness, humility, and the way she cared for others.

She also gave her time in service to others, volunteering as a candy striper at Odessa Regional Hospital. In recent years, she enjoyed participating in water aerobics at COM Aquatics, maintaining both her health and her connection with friends.

Carlene will be remembered as a sweet, quiet, humble, and kind woman-a loving wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother. Her life was marked not by loud accomplishments, but by consistent love, service, and grace that left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
