CARLETTA MISSELHORN, 85, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 7:25 pm, Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Three Springs Senior Living and Rehabilitation, Chester, Illinois.

She was born to the late Arthur and Caroline (nee Raettjer) Nordmeyer on October 2, 1939 in Murphysboro, Illinois.

Carletta married Glen Misselhorn on May 14, 1960; he preceded her in death on February 24, 2025.

She had worked as a secretary for Menard Correctional Center in Chester for 10 years. She then owned and operated Misselhorn’s clothing store for over 30 years and dedicated a lot of her time to her store. She was a people person and treated everyone who came into her store like they were family.

Carletta was of Lutheran faith and had grown up at St. John Lutheran Church in Chester. She loved boating and swimming. She especially enjoyed when the neighborhood kids came to swim at her pool.

Preceded in Death by: Parents and Husband

It was Carletta’s wish to be cremated.

Memorials may be made in Carletta’s memory to the family and are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester.
