Carlo Megna

Carlo Megna, 77, of Roseland, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025.
Born in Palermo, Italy to the late Giuseppe and Rosalia Megna, Carlo came to the United States at the age of 19 with ambition, determination, and an unwavering work ethic. He settled in Bloomfield, where he married the love of his life, Francesca (née Tizzano), and together they made their home in Glen Ridge for 51 years before moving to Roseland.
Carlo was a master plumber by trade and a true craftsman at heart. In 1971, he founded Megna Tile Imports, a kitchen and bathroom remodeling business that grew into a thriving enterprise with two locations, The Main showroom located in Bloomfield and the Warehouse showroom and fabrication center located in East Orange. He was among the first in the area to import tile and became well known for his expertise in granite and marble fabrication. His work was his passion, and he poured his heart into every project he touched.
To those who knew him, Carlo's drive was unmatched. His hobbies could best be described as "work, work, and more work." Yet, when he did slow down, he cherished quiet moments surrounded by family, sharing conversation, laughter, and stories. He was a wonderful listener and took great joy in time spent with his grandchildren. Some of his most peaceful days were at the family's home in Forked River, relaxing by the water and watching the boats drift by.
Carlo was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Stefano and Rosemarie Megna, and his son-in-law, Gerald Mastroeni.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Francesca M. Megna; his beloved children, Louise Mastroeni, Jack Joseph Gambino and his wife Rose, and Loredana Richter and her husband Bryan; his cherished grandchildren, Anthony J. Freda and his wife Kristin, Jack Carlo Gambino, Daniella Gambino, Luciano Gambino and his wife Katelyn, Gianna Gambino, Grayson Richter and Joseph Gambino; and his treasured great-grandson, Jonathan Freda, with another blessing on the way. He is also survived by his dear sister, Angela Megna.
