In Loving Memory of Carlos Alanis

September 15, 1944 – September 28, 2025

Carlos Alanis, age 81, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, in McAllen, Texas. He was born on September 15, 1944, in Dr. Coss, Nuevo León, Mexico.

Carlos was a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, proud great-grandfather, caring brother, and a dear uncle to many. For 55 wonderful years, he was the loving and loyal husband of Natalia Alanis. Together, they built a strong, close-knit family that was the center of his life.

He is survived by his five daughters, whom he loved deeply: Mirtala (David) Frias, Maria (Isaac) Sipriano, Monica Alanis, Diana (Eloy) Nuñez, and Delia (Ole) Alanis-Garcia. Carlos took great pride in his daughters and always wanted them to have a better life than he had. He welcomed his sons-in-law as his own, and they held a special place in his heart.

Carlos adored his grandchildren: Emma Salazar, Olivia Nuñez, Carlos Sipriano, Natalie Nuñez, and Mia Garcia. His face lit up whenever they were near. He was also blessed to meet and love his great-granddaughter, Delaney Thomas, who brought him joy in his later years.

He is survived by four siblings: Julia Salinas, Elida Rendón, Graciela Salinas, and Nicolas Alanis - and was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews, always generous with his laughter, wisdom, and kindness.

Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, Simón Alanis and Isabel Dávila; and his siblings Belia Flores, Romelia Alanis, and Nicola Alanis.

Carlos lived a life filled with hard work, humility, and joy. He worked tirelessly from a young age and remained dedicated to providing for his family throughout his life. Known for his strong work ethic, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He was also known for his love of life - he enjoyed making wine, had a passion for grafting plants, and always had a great sense of humor. He had a special way of making others laugh and feel welcome.

Carlos lived for his family, and nothing made him happier than being surrounded by those he loved. His legacy of love, laughter, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Flores Funeral Home in Mission, Texas.

A Chapel Service will follow at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, also at Flores Funeral Home.

Interment will take place at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission, Texas.

Carlos Alanis will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his unwavering love, his joyful spirit, and the legacy of family he leaves behind.
