In Memory of Mario Garcia

Mario Garcia, 79, entered into eternal rest on September 29, 2025, in Mission, Texas. He was born on April 7, 1946, in Mission, Texas, to Victoriano Garcia and Manuela De Luna.

Mario lived a full and meaningful life defined by hard work, service, and unconditional love for his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying that same dedication and discipline into his everyday life. Mario worked as a skilled diesel mechanic, known for his strong work ethic, determination, and commitment to doing things the right way. His hands were those of a hardworking man, but his heart was always gentle and giving toward the people he loved most.

For 54 beautiful years, Mario was the devoted and beloved husband of Ermelinda Garcia. Together they built a family grounded in love, faith, and respect. He was a proud and loving father to his daughter, Melissa (Leonel) Garcia Palomo. His joy only grew as he became a grandfather to Amanda Peña, Leonel Palomo Jr., and Daniela Palomo, and later a great-grandfather to his cherished great-granddaughter, Mia Negrete. Mario's life was also richly blessed by the closeness of his siblings, Victorino Garcia Jr., Lidia Garcia Perez, and Jose Armando Garcia, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews who will forever remember his kindness, humor, and support.

Mario was preceded in death by his parents, Victoriano Garcia and Manuela De Luna, and his brother, Jose Luis Garcia.

He will be remembered as a man of integrity, strength, and deep devotion. Mario loved his family dearly and was loved just as deeply in return. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him and had the privilege of sharing in his life.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Flores Funeral Home in Mission, Texas. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at St. Mary of Magdalene Catholic Church in Abram, Texas. Interment will follow at the Garden of Angels in Abram, Texas.
