Golden Gate Funeral Home - DallasCarlos Jerome Houston, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 26, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on August 12, 1970, in Dallas, Carlos lived a life rich with affection, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his family. Known for his caring nature, he was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew him.
With an infectious smile that could brighten the darkest of days, Carlos had a personality that was both humorous and giving. He was a proud graduate of F.D. Roosevelt High School, Class of 1990, where he learned the value of hard work and resilience. His career as a forklift driver showcased his dedication, but it was his role as a father and grandfather that brought him the greatest joy and fulfillment.
Carlos held his children and grandchildren close to his heart, finding immense pride in their accomplishments and lives. To him, they were his proudest achievements, the living legacy of a man who knew the true meaning of love and devotion. His caring disposition and protective nature made him a steadfast protector of his family, always looking out for their well-being and happiness.
He was not just a family man; Carlos relished life beyond his responsibilities. He found joy in life's simple pleasures, such as watching movies, singing, dancing, and expressing his musical talents as a DJ. His passions radiated through every facet of his being, forever imbuing gatherings with music and movement that uplifted those around him.
A visitation to celebrate Carlos' life will be held on October 9, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX, 75224. The tributes will culminate with a Funeral Service on October 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Parkside Church of God in Christ, located at 2835 Persimmon Road, Dallas, TX, 75241.
As we gather to remember Carlos, we honor not only a life that was well-lived but also a spirit that touched us all. He was, and will always be, remembered as a caring and giving soul whose smile could light up any room.
