Carlos Wilson Murphy

A Taylorsville resident, Mr. Carlos Wilson Murphy, age 64, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. He was born June 27, 1960 in Taylorsville to Thomas Wilson and Shirley Grundy Murphy. Carlos was an employee of Martinrea Heavy Stamping in Shelbyville and was a member of the Historic Taylorsville Second Baptist Church. He was an avid UofL basketball fan, he liked music and working on old trucks. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Wilson Murphy and a brother, Dwight Murphy.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Renita Lewis Murphy, his children, Brooke Stringham (Chris) Alex (James) West, Nicholas Murphy, all of Taylorsville, his mother, Shirley Grundy Murphy of Taylorsville, 2 grandchildren, Kayden and Lily, his sister, Mary Murphy of Taylorsville, his brother, Charles (Donna) Murphy of Louisville and a sister-in-law, Robin Murphy of Shelbyville. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Carlos Wilson Murphy will be 1:00 pm Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Taylorsville Second Baptist Church. Rev. John Lewis will officiate. Interment will be in Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Taylorsville Second Baptist Church Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 pm and Thursday after 9:00 am until time of the funeral service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home of Taylorsville.
