Carlos Payen Obituary
Carlos was born on November 11, 1945 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. He married Jesusita Andrade on October 14, 1967 in Hagerman, NM. They moved to Big Spring in 1989 from Lubbock, TX.
Carlos graduated from Sunset School of Preaching in Lubbock. He was a minister of the Church of Christ Since 1967, having served churches in Hagerman, NM, Rock Springs, TX, Seagoville, TX, Lubbock, TX and Big Spring, TX at Birdwell Lane Church of Christ. In addition to his serving as a minister, he also worked at Big Spring State Hospital. He also owned Payen's Book Binding.
Carlos is survived by his wife of 59 years: Jesusita Payen; 4 sons & 1 daughter: Carlos Payen, Jr. (Yolanda), Javier Payen, Orlando Payen (Zelma), Juan Payen (Mary), & Rebeca Payen; 14 grandchildren: Stephanie, Georgina, Cindy, Allison, Javier, Jr., Aiden, Serena, Desiree, Madison, Makayla, Gwyntha, Isabella, Juan Carlos, & Sophia; 14 great grandchildren; 2 sisters & 1 brother: Arcelia Sanchez (Jose), Carmen Serrano (Arturo), and Alfredo Payen (Virginia); and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, Carlos was preceded in death by 1 brother: James Payen and sister: Virginia Epps.
