Carlos Adrian Prado

Carlos Adrian Prado, 68, passed away on February 4th, 2026, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Tx, joining his parents and the Lord in their eternal home.

Carlos Prado, 68, was born to Manuel Prado and Consuelo Fernandez-Prado on April 20, 1957, in La Feria, Texas. He graduated from La Feria High School and later made his way to Big Spring, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Diana Longoria Prado. Carlos and Diana were united in marriage on March 29, 1997 and he moved to Odessa, TX where he began a beautiful journey of love, faith, and family that nearly spanned four decades.

Carlos dedicated much of his life to hard work and providing for his family. He proudly worked as a truck driver for Weatherford for over 20 years, where he became known for his strong work ethic and deep knowledge of his trade. In 2021, he began working for Artificial Lift Systems, continuing to demonstrate his expertise and commitment. Carlos took great pride in knowing every part of the good old West Texas pump jack by heart and was known for his remarkable ability to navigate even the hidden roads of West Texas. He was dependable, skilled, and respected by those who worked alongside him.

A devoted father and family man, Carlos was strong, caring, and disciplined. He cherished time spent with his loved ones—relaxing on the couch with his blanket after a long day’s work, taking a well-earned nap, grilling steaks and barbecue on hot summer days with his son, and dancing with his wife and children on Saturday nights. He enjoyed baking cakes, fishing whenever he could get away to the water, and capturing precious memories as the family’s avid videographer and photographer. A true handyman and problem solver, Carlos seemed to know how to fix anything around the house.

Carlos was a spiritual man and a devout Catholic who worshipped faithfully at St. Elizabeth. His faith carried him through life’s greatest challenges. In 2022, after battling prostate cancer, Carlos triumphantly rang the survivor bell, demonstrating his incredible strength and fighting spirit. When cancer returned in 2024 and metastasized, he faced it with courage and determination, defying the odds placed before him by doctors. Surrounded by his family and strengthened by his unwavering faith, Carlos fought bravely until the very end.

Carlos is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Prado and Consuelo Fernandez-Prado; his brother, Jorge ‘Mr. Bill’ Humberto Prado; and his sister, Martha ‘Marsha’ Noyola.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Diana Longoria Prado; his children, Christopher Edward Prado; Danielle Nicole Prado and her partner Santiago Miguel Martinez III; Michael Anthony Ontiveros and his wife Sarah with their children Zola and Esperanza; Robert Salomon; his step-daughter, Blanca Nieto and her children Sebastian, Samantha, Gabriel, Jacquelyn Zaragoza and her husband Oscar Lujan and their children Ava, Leon, and Luca.

Carlos is further survived by his brothers, Mario Prado and his wife Alicia, and Mario “Sonny” Prado and his wife Linda; his nephews Joey Noyola and his wife Sherri, Michael Prado and his partner Ronda Mitchell; David Noyola and his partner Alexis Ramirez, as well as Adrian Noyola and his wife Daphne, and numerous other nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

A viewing for Carlos Prado will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Martinez Funeral Home (South), with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the chapel of Martinez Funeral Home, officiated by Father Joe Uecker.

Cremation will follow at a later date

Pallbearers will be Joey Noyola, Adrian Noyola, David Noyola, Michael Prado, Sebastian Nieto, Gabriel Alvidrez, Frank Acosta, and Salvador ‘Baby Sal’ Longoria Jr.

The family of Carlos Prado extends their sincerest thanks to Dr. Khavar J. Dar for his compassion and care; nurses Peyton, Vangie, and Lindsay of CCU; nurse Chris of ICU; and the dietary and nutrition services staff at Medical Center Hospital. Your outstanding care, support, and compassion during this time of need and uncertainty will never be forgotten.

Carlos will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His strength, faith, love, and unwavering dedication to his family leave a legacy that will live on in the hearts and minds of those he touched.

We will miss you, Carlos. You were loved, and you spread love wherever you went.
