Marsha Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory - West Odessa on Mar. 11, 2026.
Marsha Carolyn Johnson, lovingly known as "Herman" to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, in Odessa, Texas, after a courageous battle with an autoimmune disorder. Born on May 18, 1950, in Lubbock, Texas to Veto Porter Miller and Lenna Faye Winn Miller. Carolyn's warmth and generosity touched all who knew her throughout her 75 years of life.

Carolyn was a proud graduate of Odessa High School, class of 1968, where she was known for her spunkie spirit and kind heart. She found her Purpose later in life when she dedicated herself to a fulfilling career as a Patient Care Technician for Fesenius Dialysis, where she worked for 30 years. C.J's selfless nature shone brightly as she provided care and comfort to those in need, earning the respect and love of her colleagues and patients alike.

A woman of deep Christian faith, Carolyn lived her beliefs through her actions, always putting others before herself and embodying the virtues of compassion and service. Her commitment to her faith was evident in every aspect of her life, providing strength and comfort to her during challenging times.

Carolyn's creativity knew no bounds. She was a talented crafter, skilled in painting, sewing, crochet, and floral design. Her handmade creations were not only a source of joy for her but brought beauty and happiness to those fortunate enough to receive them. Through her artistic endeavors, Carolyn's legacy will live on in the countless pieces that adorn the homes of her loved ones and friends.

Generous, creative, and selfless-these words encapsulate the essence of Carolyn. Her ability to give without expecting anything in return was a testament to her character and the love she had for those around her.

Carolyn's love for her family was boundless. She is survived by her 3 children, all of Odessa. Sons, William Perry and his wife Michelle, Jerry Daniels and his wife Anna and her loving daughter, Noma Daniels. Lovingly known by her grandma name of "Herman" she also cherished 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, each of them a perfect gem in her treasure chest of memories. Sisters, Linda, Darla , Janice, Rhonda and brother Randall. Many nieces and nephews and a large Tribe of Lifelong Friends. Carolyn's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of love, care, and creativity-a testament to the extraordinary woman she was. As we mourn the loss of Carolyn, we also celebrate her remarkable life and the countless ways she made our world a better place. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories we share and the love we carry forward.

Proceeded in Death by her parents Veto and Lenna Miller, Brothers Jerry and Veto Miller, Sister Joy Johson and grandson Shawn Perry.

A memorial service will be held at 12 pm, Thursday March 19, in Acres West main chapel.
