Maria "Luly" Ramirez, a beacon of love and laughter, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 38, in her hometown of
Odessa, Texas, where she was born on May 14, 1987. Luly was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, and mother, whose radiant presence brought joy to all who were fortunate to know her.
Luly was the beloved daughter of Cathy and Sotero Cortez, who nurtured her with love and instilled in her the values of kindness and generosity that she carried throughout her life. Her spirit was further shaped by the bonds she shared with her brothers, Sotero Cortez Jr. and his wife Karen Paz, Jose Aaron Cortez and his wife Britany Cardona, and Fabian Cortez and his wife Beatriz Galindo; and her devoted sister, Abigail Cortez and her husband Rigoberto Montano. Luly found her soulmate in her late husband, Israel Bañuelos, with whom she built a beautiful family, including her adoring sons, Cesar Damian Ramirez and Justin Bañuelos, and her treasured daughters, Laisha Ramirez and Mia Bañuelos.
A devout Christian, Luly's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing comfort and strength during life's trials. Her unwavering belief was a source of inspiration to her family and friends, and it was reflected in her compassionate and caring nature.

A Rosary will be recited at 7pm, Monday, March16, 2026, at Acres West Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will begin 2pm, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at St. Anthonys Catholic Church with a burial to follow at American Heritage Cemetery.
